Roku announced the launch of its famous remote app for Apple’s wearable.
Now, you can use Roku free app on the Apple watch, turning it into a wearable remote for your TV.
If you already have the Roku mobile app, you can simply update it to the 6.1.3 version and it will appear on your Apple Watch, otherwise you’ll have to download it.
You will be able to control your TV from your wrist, using the watch’s display to quickly launch or change channels and the circular crown to turn the volume up or down.
There’s also voice search – tap the dedicated icon and you can issue commands like switch to HDMI or “search for comedies”. Of course, this isn’t a universal feature, just for some Roku devices and Roku TVs.
For those who still want to use the remote from time to time but it was eaten by the couch cushions again, the Roku App for Apple Watch lets you trigger an audible chime to find it.
