Ghost of Tsushima is an extraordinary single-player experience with finely tuned gameplay mechanics. But seemingly out of nowhere, Sucker Punch dropped an announcement for multiplayer expansion coming this fall.
Called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, this mode is based on the “haunting and fantastical, with locations and enemies inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology [with] an emphasis on cooperative combat and action.” In the two player mode, players will be able to complete a co-op Story. Although perhaps similar to the single player missions, these new co-op missions will emphasis synergy with your co-op partner.
In the four-player mode, players will be tasked with surviving in wave based combat. There will also be four classes (styles of play): the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin.
Finally, in a mode that will release a little after Legends, a player and three friends can take on a Raid mode to take on a new type of enemy. This, and Legends, will all be free to download. All that is required to play is a PS Plus membership.
