While working on the Flutter UI Toolkit 1.0 and expanding Project Fi, the company is shutting down less popular features like its Allo messaging app.

Google had already suspended development for the app back in April, as well as funding, but now it will officially put it to sleep. The users will still be able to export their existing conversation history from the app if they choose to do so and Google even offered them instructions on how to do it.

Alongside Allo, Google also launched video chat service Duo which will continue to stand and will be receiving some well-deserved updates in the near future in order to simplify the way people make video calls.

Hangouts, on the other hand, will face the guillotine hand in hand with Allo, according to Google’s statement. Hangouts users will be moved to the Hangouts Chat and Hangouts Meet services.
