HMD Global, the company that commercializes now Nokia smartphones, might have the key to restore the brand’s former glory. After a couple of phones launched at MWC 2017, the manufacturer is raising the stakes by rekindling the partnership with Carl Zeiss optics #mobilemagic
In fact, the company has already a deal with Zeiss to bring back the imaging expertise to Nokia phones. This time though, the agreement might go deeper than just integrating their lenses. Rumor is HMD will involve Zeiss in all camera matters, from hardware to software.
This move is obviously something that will peak the interest of amateur photographers, as well as Nokia’s longtime fans. Zeiss lenses are not only a standard for quality in this field, their reputation precedes them. With competitors like Apple and Huawei, this partnership might be what HMD Global needs to be counted as a competitor, not merely a followers.
Leaker Evan Blass has already spotted a teaser regarding a Nokia phone with two rear cameras. If HMD launches Nokia with a dual camera, it could stand a chance on the US market.
