Honor View 20, a Smartphone With a 48MP Camera

Honor has announced the View 20 smartphone during an event that took place in Hong Kong.

The device prides itself on the fact that it is the very first to feature a whooping 48 MP camera with a Sony IMX586 sensor! It also features something called Link Turbo, which will allow you to use Wi-Fi and 4G simultaneously.

The handset will work on a Kirin 980 chipset and the company has gushed about the camera. Huawei View 20’s 40MP rear camera will do wonders in broad daylight, while in low light the 1/2 inch sensor with a Quad Bayer color array is going to rely on pixel-binning tech. Thanks to the latest Kirin chip, the phone will be able to offer an AI HDR mode for stills.

This will be the only camera the phone will feature – no dual or triple cameras anywhere in sight.

The phone will go through its official unveiling on December 26th in China under the name Honor V2.

The global launch of the phone will take place in Paris on January 22nd. We will keep you posted until then.
