As far as action cameras go, some of the best deals in town always come from Insta360.
The new 360-degree camera keeps the design lines of the One X from 2018 but, if you look closer, there’s a lot more than meets the eye.
First off, the Insta360 One X2 now has a touchscreen, so you can see exactly what’s recorded.
Then, there’s a bigger, 1,630 mAh battery that can go for up to 80 minutes when shooting in 360-degrees at the highest resolution.
The other major hardware improvement is waterproofing.
The Insta360 One X2 has an IPX8 waterproof rating, so it can survive not just a heavy rain or a pool dip but also an up to 10 meters water depth.
If you also buy the Dive Case, you can go underwater at up to 45 meters depth.
The video specs are largely unchanged, with Insta360 investing a lot more into AI that makes video look nicer and editing a lot easier, but the numbers are mostly identical to the previous model.
The camera can shoot 360 video in 5.7K at 30fps or even up to 100fps at 3K. If you shoot in Steady Cam Mode with a single lens, the footage will be recorded in 2K 50fps.
The 360-degrees thing doesn’t go just for video capture but audio as well.
The Insta360 One X2 uses four microphones, so it can record quality audio no matter how you hold it, and uses a wind-reduction algorithm.
With upgraded looks and specs, the price also went up a bit.
Insta360 One X2 is available in Insta360’s store and goes for $429.99.
