Those wishing for a quiet Sunday in bed just scrolling through their social feeds were in for a rude awakening.
Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp went down for a few hours in various areas of Europe and Asia.
Starting at around 3:30 am PT, Facebook and Instagram users could not access either platform. On WhatsApp, the app could be opened but people couldn’t send or receive messages.
This is the second time in two months when Facebook goes down, though last month’s outage lasted a whole day and affected 2 billion users.
This time, the number of users affected was smaller.
According to the Downdetector.com service, more than 12,000 people reported Facebook issues, more than 3,000 signaled WhatsApp issues and more than 7,000 complained about Instagram being down.
