Fans of Bioware and their acclaimed Sci-fi RPG saga Mass Effect have plenty to be happy for today.
The legendary game studio just announced Mass Effect Legendary Edition, also on next-gen consoles, and confirmed long standing rumors: there is a Mass Effect 4 on the way.
The original Mass Effect trilogy finished off on a low note for some fans, who were unhappy with Mass Effect 3, and then left more disappointed when the next installment in the franchise, Mass Effect Andromeda, diverted from the main plot.
Still, many were patiently waiting for Bioware to return to the original, award winning formula, and hopefully Mass Effect 4 will be that.
Bioware shied away from giving anymore details about ME4 but did explain all there is to know about the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
If you didn’t play the original series or you want to see Captain Shepard again, this is what you want to pick up.
The Mass Effect Legendary Edition will have all the single-player content and missions from the first 3 Mass Effect games, even weapons and armor that were previously promo exclusivities, ported on Xbox One and PS4.
There will also be a Mass Effect Legendary Edition on PC and, of course, for the newest generation of consoles.
Bioware will reveal the enhancements coming in the Xbox Series X and PS5 at a later date.
“Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form.
It’s been amazing to see the adventures of Commander Shepard take on new life in super-sharp resolution, faster framerates, and beautiful visual enhancements,” teased Bioware.
