Meet DTEK60, Blackberry’s First Phone With Fingerprint Sensor

Blackberry is catching up with its fellow competitors by announcing the first phone under their name with embedded fingerprint sensor. It was about time #mobilemagic

DTEK60 is the latest Blackberry phone with a reference design from TCL. It’s biggest advantage remains the security provided by the company through full data encryption and a Hardware Root of Trust, although this time it carries a fingerprint scanner too. It might be “too little, too late” for the average consumer accustomed to the technology by now, but to Blackberry fans it will make things easier, eliminating the additional step to log in. The sensor is located on the rear side.

The premium smartphone has a 5.5-inch display with quad HD resolution and dual-glass panel. Under the hood you’ll find Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, a 21MP rear camera, 3,000mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0, expandable memory with microSD cards up to 2TB and USB Type C port.

If that sounds pretty good to you, check the Blackberry website for the unlocked version priced at $499.
