If you’re not close to the ocean and don’t take advantage of windy days, it’s kind of hard to learn how to surf. So, Kai Concepts came up with an electric surfboard, one that doesn’t need waves or wind to travel across water #todaymagic
The team behind Kiteboat, the foiling trimaran pulled by a kite that can sail three times the wind speed, made Jetfoiler. The vehicle combines a quiet, electric engine with a hydrofoil and a common surfboard. Jetfoiler allows you to go at the speed wanted on any surface, even on a lake. It’s an easy way of walking on water, without wrestling waves. “As a new no-wind-required sport, a fun family excursion, or a training tool for the aspiring kitefoiler, the Jetfoiler allows riders of varying ages and abilities to discover the power and thrill of gliding above the surface of the water”, said Kai Concepts.
While you’re on the electric surfboard, you’ll see the remote control above the board. The idea is to keep it steady at all times, so you can modify the direction and speed as you see fit. This is the primary control mechanism, so it’s crucial that you don’t let go! No joke.
Another cool feature of the Jetfoiler is the optional cruise control. Once you reach a certain speed, you’ll be able to lean back on the board and relax. The board will act on its own and you won’t have to stand up, balanced, anymore.
The team says they’ve used the same materials found in high-end race boats to build it. The “board and foil are light, strong, and low-drag, allowing the device to take full advantage of the provided power”, the company explained. Unfortunately, there’s no info about the price and release date.
