This year, Mobile World Congress is going to disappoint some of you. After Samsung announced they won’t be unveiling their next flagship smartphone (the rumored S8), Xiaomi decided to skip MWC altogether #mobilemagic

Yes, you heard right. The Chinese manufacturer is not going to present their next premium smartphone in Barcelona, next month, nor any other device. A spokesperson confirmed the news, reports TechCrunch.

Granted, Xiaomi hasn’t had years and years of presence at the show. They’ve been a recent addition thanks to Hugo Barra’s contribution, their former VP of International. With him gone, Xiaomi might be reconsidering their strategy and presence in Europe. At CES 2017, though, Xiaomi did mention the release of a white version of Mi MIX, as well as present their new TV.

Nevertheless, LG G6, Sony’s nex Xperia line, BlackBerry and Nokia’s devices should offer a much-deserved distraction for participants.
