‘My Dad’s Blood Boy’: How A Multimillionaire Tech Investor Is De-Aging His Father

‘I am my dad’s blood boy’, said this tech investor on X (formerly Twitter) when discussing rejuvenation techniques.

Bryan Johnson, a millionaire tech investor, took to Twitter to claim his “super blood” reduced his father’s age by about 25 years.

The investor was no doubt doing a tongue-in-cheek reference to the war boys in Mad Max, who required blood transfusions to prolong their lives and captured people to use as living blood bags. The procedure he was referring to has been hyped in recent years as a promising treatment for aging and perhaps even an aging-reversal tool – mostly by himself. Previously, Johnson made headlines thanks to anti-aging blood transfusions from his son, not to his father.

Can blood transfusions slow aging?

If you look at Johnson’s Twitter and the numbers he posted, you’d think so. However, Johnson is the only “expert” promoting this idea. If you look at the “young blood transfusion” page on Wikipedia, it’s…well… some alternative medicine right there.

As Healthnews points out, the 45-year-old tech tycoon Bryan Johnson periodically swaps blood with his son to prevent aging and stay young, at a cost of about $2 million per year.

Johnson made his fortune by founding a company that ended up buying Venmo before it got huge and got acquired by Paypal. In 2021, he announced his new work, Project Blueprint, which wants  to “measure all 70+ organs of my body and then maximally reverse the quantified biological age of each.”

If you’re looking for a head spinner, give that announcement a read, and find out why “never has the collective of Bryans been more healthy and happy.”

Why can’t they just wear Patagonia vests and pretend they’re fit explorers like in the old days?

At least this guy can roll with the punches, I guess…
