Nokia Is Working on Budget 5G Phone

Lately, Nokia has been focusing on the mid-range smartphones segment, working on offering customers budget-friendly devices and good specs. Now, the company is working on yet another budget handset.

According to a report from Nokia Power User, HMD Global-led Nokia is working on an affordable 5G smartphone.

The Nokia TA-1258 will probably have thick bezels both above and below the display rather than a notch, as it would reportedly integrate a 5.99-inch display with HD+ (1440 x 720p) resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The latter means buyer should expect thick bezels both above and below the display rather than a notch.

In terms of camera capabilities, the handset will feature a 5-megapixel selfie shooter up front and an 8-megapixel camera for 1080p video recording. The phone will probably ship with Android 10 pre-installed as part of the Android One program and have a 3,040mAh battery.

Recently, we’ve reported about a mid-range powerful Nokia smartphone, Nokia 6.3. The new device is set to replace Nokia 6.2, so it will most likely be named Nokia 6.3, equipped with either the Snapdragon 670 or Snapdragon 675, expected for release around late August or September alongside the Nokia 7.3 and flagship Nokia 9.3 PureView.

Nokia’s cheap 5G phone is supposed to arrive later this year, and we’ll keep you posted.
