After showcasing a 5x optical zoom at MWC 2017, Oppo unveiled their latest Selfie Expert smartphone additions, the F3 and F3 Plus. Both come with a kickass dual selfie camera and exciting image enhancements #mobilemagic

Oppo, the biggest vendor in China last year, has become a household name for their mission of making self-portraits works of art. It all began with the F1 Plus which featured a remarkable 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and digital enhancements meant to beautify the resulting selfie. Now, Oppo is bringing their A-game with dual selfie camera on F3 and F3 Plus. The latter one was announced yesterday and is going to retail in India.

The 6.0-inch LCD smartphone has an unibody aluminum design, “broken” by a delicate, six-string antenna pattern. It retains the same sleek appearance of its predecessors, while offering the best camera performance with dual front-facing shooters. One is a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and the second one is a 8MP wide-angle lens perfect for group selfies, offering a 120-degrees field-of-view.

Great hardware would be nothing without top-notch imaging software, so Oppo F3 Plus is using FotoNation’s technology for its Beautify 4.0 mode. Their computational imaging software makes sure you get the best selfie possible by highlighting your best features, retouching undesired face areas and applying digital contouring. Its the quickest route to flawless selfies as you don’t need to further edit the picture in third-party apps.

Thanks to the dual camera, you also get the trendy bokeh effect that’s been popping on flagship phones for a while now. Before we explore the rest of the smartphone, there’s one more thing to add: a Smart Facial Recognition feature has been added to the phone that can suggest the best lens to use depending on the number of people detected in the shot.

The rear camera is a 16MP Sony IMX398 sensor with f/1.7 aperture and dual PDAF, so you won’t feel like you’re compromising on rear camera quality. The F3 Plus is running on a Snapdragon 653 processor with Android 6.0 installed and ColorOS 3.0. It offers 4GB of RAM, 64GB expendable storage, fingerprint reading, gesture control and an Eye protect mode that filters the blue light from the display.

As for battery, you’re in luck there – Oppo has upped the cell to 4,000mAh, making sure you can take all the pictures you want and chat with friends. The VOOC fast charging coming with the device should grant you up to 2 hours of talk time after 5 minutes of charging.

Oppo F3 Plus (Black, Gold versions) will retail in India starting April 1 at the price of INR 30,990 ($473). Its 5.5-inches brother, the F3, is set to come in May.
