Based on a build done in 2015, a playable version of the video-game Dead Island 2 leaked online.
The game seems to be in working condition, one Youtuber receiving the download link via private message and proceeded to create a new character in Dead Island 2, although she received a pre-made one with a level of 22.
Dead Island 2 featured classes, like in the previous game, consisting of a speeder, a berserker, a hunter, and a bishop. Mostly reworks of the previous game class system, the melee fighter, the brawler, the one that’s good with shooting thing, and the one with the good trowing arm.
In the early build of the game, curios gamers can also find 3 locations based on Malibu, indicating that the game indeed took place in that location, as the announcement trailer indicated. Also, to note, the build is done partially for a console, and some aspects are not optimized for PC play.
Using some Google-Fu, this build of Dead Island 2 is not very hard to track down. You do so at your own risk. The game is an early build, with tons of graphical place holders, glitches and other bugs. Some graphical aspects are not even remotely ready for a beta test, indicating that this variant is most likely from an early version of development.
Who knows, maybe the excitement that this playable build of Dead Island 2 generated among Youtube influencers will light some light bulbs over at Deep Silver. Maybe they un-cancel the game and re-work it in a smaller release.
