Out of nowhere the PlayStation 5 console was revealed at today’s PlayStation 5 Future of Gaming event!
Much like the Dual Sense controller, the console is sleek and minimalistic. Set in the same binary white-black tones, the console gives off an extremely futuristic look. Rather than stick to straight lines (like the PS4 and Xbox Series X), the PlayStation 5 is more curvy and elegant.
But PlayStation didn’t announce just one console; they announced two: regular and Digital! Based on design and naming alone, it’s likely that the Digital Edition will not be able to play physical games. Storage and price differences, however, were not mentioned.
Additionally, some new accessories specifically tailored for the PS5 were shown off. These include a new DualSense Charging Station, an HD Camera, Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, and a media remote.
In total, the system reveal was slick and smooth, just like the console itself. No pricing or release date have yet been announced, but given the hype around the console itself, this reveal and the rest of the Future of Gaming event are completely satisfactory for many.
