Electric Corvette Has A Need For Speed As It Breaks New Record

The Z06 Corvette became a dream come true for speeders, with a top speed of 185 mph at its unveiling  last year. But a small company called Genovation modified it enough to blast the record as an electrical car #automagic

Genovation disassembles machines in order to make them lightning fast. This time it took a C6 Z06 Corvette and replaced the 7l, 505 horsepower V8 with two electrical motors powered by a 44kWh battery system.

After proving it could set a new world record at 186.8 mph at the beginning of the year, the company went back and rethought everything. They gave the GXE Corvette power to accelerate and achieve a staggering 205.6 mph on the Space Florida’s Shuttle Landing Facility.

That’s impressive coming from a company who is not Tesla Motors and works on modified cars. That could change soon though as Genovation has plans of launching its own electric sports car, dubbed the G2. That would look like an Audi TT in electric and plug-in hybrid guises.
