If you love an immersive experience of VR fighting, you will enjoy this robot that goes beyond the basic and fights back in real life while you’re playing.
The robot was created by robotics engineer and YouTuber James Bruton, with the support of the University of Portsmouth students.
How does it work?
The robot has 3D-printed parts that make up the pneumatic punching arms and foot pumps. It runs on Arduino Mega interface, while the robot’s arms and the player’s headsets are Vive-tracked.
Its movements are synchronized to a personalized VR game, and the blow is softened by boxing gloves, so players can be safe.
