A month after all eyes were on the various future Samsung notch concepts, the company debuts the Samsung A8s 2018 and, surprise surprise, it has the Infinity-O hole!
Moving on from the notch, Samsung chose to house the selfie camera in a hole-punch design in the top left corner of the 6.4-inch display with 2340 x 1080 px resolution.
The Samsung A8s doesn’t have a price yet but, looking at the specs, it’s easy to see how it fits into the midrange smartphone arena.
With a Snapdragon 710 paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage (expandable to 512 GB with a microSD card), it’s not going to be smashing any benchmark anytime soon.
However, it’s a great phone for camera enthusiasts – the selfie shooter is a 24 MP sensor, while the back sports the triple-rear camera setup, just like the Galaxy A7 2018. That’s a 24 MP sensor with autofocus paired with a 10 MP telephoto lens with 2X zoom and a 5 MP depth lens for that popular bokeh effect.
The entire package is powered by a 3,400 mAh battery and house in a pretty sleek glass and metal body.
Samsung kept quiet on both pricing and launch date but did say that the A8s will be up for pre-order soon in China.
