It’s Gamescom week so that means plenty of gaming gear. Samsung just announced two new curved gaming monitors that are supposed to be “affordable” or at least affordable enough to still let you invest in other parts of your battlestation.
Meet the CJG5 series with curved, 2560 x 1440 VA panels with 144Hz refresh rate. Available in a 27-inch version that will go for £309.99 or in a 32-inch option at £359.99 (US price not yet disclosed), these two babies will definitely pair up nicely with your gaming setup without actually breaking the bank. Of course, if you’re a visual enthusiast, you’ll know that the Samsung CJG5 27-inch is the better choice since 1440p won’t look nearly as good stretched out to 32 inches.
Both CJG5 models will have an HDMI 2.0 port, an HDMI 1.4 port, and a DisplayPort input.
“The game and cinema modes automatically optimize the black gamma level, contrast, sharpness, and saturation for any genre of games and movies. Users can also instantly check and control key settings during the game with ease, using the game-dedicated On Screen Display (OSD) dashboard menu with game style UI,” is what Samsung says about the rest of the features. Toss one of those Philips Hue light bars behind and you’ll definitely have a lit setup.
