Should HTC’s One S9 Be The Last Descendant Of The Series?

There can be only One. Or not, if you ask HTC. The electronics company is keeping the One line afloat by launching S9, a phone that grabbed our attention with its design but… nothing more. Is is time to bring out the Second? #mobilemagic

The HTC One S9 comes with a 5-inch FHD Super LCD (lost in HD? FHD means 1920×1080 resolution*) display with Gorilla Glass, 2GHz Octa Core MediaTek Helio X10 SoC processor,  just 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, a 13MP rear camera with 4MP front shooter (not the best news for selfie lovers), BoomSound speakers, a rather small 2,840mAh battery and Android Marshmallow.

It’s not the worst smartphone we’ve seen, but at the rumored price of €499 ($561), we’re not sure it’s worth the money. The only thing that peaked our interest was the front design of the phone. While the back doesn’t bring anything new from the M9 handset, the front doesn’t feature a home button with fingerprint sensor, the black bars are gone and the front panels look very different.

It’s certainly sleeker but this launch made us feel like it’s high time HTC gave up the One series in favor of a new, more creative line.
