Someone Just Built the World’s Slowest Desktop PC (Kinda Like What You Have to Fix Over the Holidays)

The following video should carry a trigger warning for anyone who had to do tech support for their family over the holidays, so consider yourself warned.

Everyone is trying to build the world’s most powerful PC but PCWorld hilariously went the other way. Meet the world’s slowest desktop PC, a marvel of engineering with parts that were recalled due to risk of fire.

PCWorld put together this beast using some of the oldest, worst-engineered components, including the Gigabyte P750GM, which, as the outlet says, “has a reputation for exploding”.

The world’s slowest PC was built in the hopes of getting the worst possible benchmark score and it came very close to perfection.

The goal is to get lower than the Cinebench R15 single-thread score of 17, a record from a few years back established also by PCWorld. To get an idea how slow this baby is, the top-of-the-line Intel Core i9-13900K from this year gets around 2300 in that benchmark so yes, this one doesn’t move, it crawls.

Now imagine what would happen if a certain someone in your family got their hands on it and installed their favorite toolbars and plugins (all 300 of them).
