Sonicam Is A 4K VR Camera With 3D Sound You Can Actually Afford

More often than not, great quality comes at a steep price. If it weren’t for start-ups and platforms that encourage them to reach users, awesome tech would be the privilege of well off people. As it stands, Indiegogo backers can experiment for the first time with an affordable 360-degree 4K camera with 3D sound named Sonicam #realitymagic

When you see Sonicam, you instantly think of Nokia OZO. Yet, the biggest difference between the two spheres is actually the price; while the first sells for $2599 on Indiegogo, Nokia’s OZO is available for a whooping 37,500 euros!

Is the tech that different?! Not quite. Sonicam captures 4K (4096×2048 @ 30fps) 360-degree videos AND 3D sound. To achieve that, the cam is equipped with nine F2.2 fish-eye cameras and 64 HQ microphones. The quality is impressive and the software, even more. Sonicam does in-camera video stitching and allows live streaming. That’s perfect if you want to make your work known on social media.

Obviously, this means that Sonicam has a mobile app (iOS/Android) too. From there, you can set ISO, white balance, brightness, saturation and much more features. Moreover, you can use the app to control the camera remotely.

Now, for the best part: in the price of the camera are included several essential accessories. If you decide to get a Sonicam, the manufacturers will throw in a handle monopod, tripod, a 128GB SD card and a plastic case to store everything.

What do you think – will you give it a shot this summer?
