The record for the highest smartphone sensor is currently held by the Honor View 20, which has a 48MP sensor but it looks like some worthy competition might be on its way to steal the throne.
According to Japanese website SumahoInfo, the upcoming Sony Xperia XZ4 will have an impressive 52MP sensor. The system is made out of three cameras: the first one is a 16MP telephoto camera with an f/2.6 aperture lens. The middle is the reported 52MP camera coming in with an f/1.6, while the third camera is a 0.3MP ToF sensor with an f/1.4 aperture lens.
The report states that the images they got are only renders based on some leaked CAD drawings, which, if it’s true, means that the design might not actually reflect the final product at all. As we know, smartphones go through a number of changes since their original CAD designs, before they reach the final production model.
Previous leaks have stated that the phone will have a 6.5 inch QHD display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and will come with a Snapdragon 855 under the hood, which would make it one of the first devices to sport Qualcomm’s newest chipset.
It will have 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and pack a punch with a 4,400mAh battery.
Again, take this with a grain of salt. If Sony will unveil the smartphone, it will most likely be during the MWC. The event is just around the corner so as soon as we know something, so will you.
