Spotify is the most downloaded music streaming app in 2020, and with the likes of YouTube Music catching up, the service is providing users more and more features to keep its top place.
The latest offering from Spotify is a premium membership for couples, making it easier to split the cost of a subscription while also merging their music taste. Premium Duo costs $12.99 a month and allows two people who live at the same place to share one plan while maintaining their own accounts. Also, Spotify will generate a special Duo Mix that would include music both people like and will update the playlist regularly.
If two existing Premium members come together they can switch to a Duo account and still keep all their account history and preferences.
The Family plan membership is $2 more than Duo and supports up to six accounts. That plan also comes with a special Family Mix playlist that promises the same thing as the Duo Mix, except it accounts for the entire family’s preferences. The single Premium membership costs $9.99.
Spotify is making efforts to design the app in order to reach users of all ages and statuses. It offers student discounts, a kids app that’s available through the family plan, and now, a plan for couples. Also, the music streaming service is getting ready to show you official music videos of the songs you are listening to.
