Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has real competition and no, I’m not talking about a new Motorola Razr. Instead, I’m referring to the first foldable from TCL.
TCL unveiled their first foldable, a flip phone strikingly similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Called internally Project Chicago, the phone unfortunately was not for sale.
TCL changed their mind and decided to postpone the launch as they believed their product wasn’t cheap enough. Mind you, the launch price would have been about $800 or lower, but considering the market, TCL believed it was still pretty expensive.
If Project Chicago had made it out, the flip phone would have come with a beautiful display – no obvious crease in sight, like the Galaxy Z Flip 3 sported.
It would have run on Snapdragon 765G which means it would also have been the first foldable/flip phone mid-ranger. The phone boasted a 44MP camera and dual 48MP and 16MP rear cameras.
Was TCL right to postpone the release?
