One missing leg, one “patched eye” – Morgan Motor’ EV3 is the pirate of electrical cars. The vehicle is not only eccentric enough to appeal to Royalty, but it’s a great zero-emissions alternative to those who appreciate a classic look #automagic
The British automaker is in production phase with the quirky vehicle, a mix between “1930s aero-engine race cars, classic motorcycles and 1950s fantasy automatons.” EV 3 has a carbon fiber hood, aluminum panels and an ash wood frame – a car fit for Jack Sparrow, if he’d live in modern times. A single headlight can be seen above the cooling fins.
Under the hood, there’s a 20-kilowatt hour lithium ion battery and the power to go from 0 to 62mph in nine seconds – not dangerously fast, indeed, but exhilarating still, especially since there’s no windshield.
Morgan EV3 weighs less than 1.100 pounds but if you’re up to the challenge of driving a three-wheeled car, $50,000 should be a price worth paying.
