Finally, TikTok can say it’s doing something that Snapchat and Instagram can’t. Soon, you’ll be able to order your favorite viral food from TikTok’s own kitchen.
TikTok Kitchen(s) will open across the U.S. offering the meals made famous on the social platform.
Around 300 kitchens are planned to serve popular hits like baked feta pasta, pasta chips, smash burgers, and corn ribs. By the end of 2022 though, the company believes they will be able to expand to around 1,000.
The idea is not to build from scratch new diners, but to use some of those already opened. TikTok Kitchens will only provide training to existing employees, come up with the food packaging, and share its TikTok-sourced recipes.
“To be clear, this is a campaign to bring TikTok foods to fans, not a venture into the restaurant business.”, said TikTok spokesperson Elena Saavedra in a statement to The Verge.
The menu will be changed periodically, bringing in even more foods that are trending among creators.
The users who created the viral recipes will be credited and the money received for the orders will go to support them, as well as encourage others to join their ranks.
There’s no info on the price of these meals but odds are, this service will become massively popular. We already love ordering in so doing it from the place we spend most of our time on… well, that just makes sense.
What will your first TikTok order be?
