Vivo announced that it will launch its Vivo T1 5G smartphone on the 9th of February, in India. The device has been promoted generously on the company’s social media accounts but it’s only now, thanks to a new leak, that we actually know more about what specs the T1 5G might feature.

Overall, it seems like the company has decided not to go too crazy, even in terms of design: the packaging is quite simple. It’s a white box with the company’s logo and the phone’s branding in black and gray.
The phone itself doesn’t really stand out from other devices currently available (or upcoming) on the market either, from what we’ve seen so far. However, Vivo is touting the device as having a “slim & light form factor”, which seems to be used as the main selling point.
Unfortunately, even in terms of specs, we can’t really expect much, on the contrary: while the phone is not the same as the Vivo T1, or the T1x, it even features a lower-end chipset than them, which is the Snapdragon 695 5G.
This decision might be the result of the ongoing chipset crisis, but we can only speculate on that.
The smartphone is said to have a 6.58″ FHD+ LCD display with a 129Hz refresh rate. It will come with 4GB, 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM options and 128GB UFS.2 storage.
On the back, we’ll find a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP main sensor, and a 2MP + 2MP combo. On the front, a 16MP.

It will have a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging.
Other features will include a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In terms of pricing, it’s going to have a price tag of Rs. 20,000 in India, which, after conversion, comes up to roughly around $268. However, we don’t know the global availability of the Vivo T1 5G at the moment, so we’ll have to wait for the official launch to find out more.
