Vivo truly loves its retractable modules and for the Vivo V17 Pro, the company has welcomed its latest module with open arms.
But, to begin with, the phone has a 6.44 inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint reader. Under the hood, it holds a Snapdragon 675 chipset that arrives with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage and a 4,100mAh battery capable of 18W fast charging.
It’s not the most impressive hardware combination out there but Vivo is a safe bet when it comes to battery life and solid cameras – especially on this device.
For starters, the main camera set on the front is a 32MP coupled up with an 8MP lens with 105 degree field-of-view. Both lenses are hosted behind a retractable module that the company has dubbed the Dual Elevating Front Camera.
On the back, we’ll find a 48MP primary shooter, a 13MP telephoto lens that has 2x zoom and 10x digital zoom capabilities, an 8MP wide-angle lens (that also doubles as a macro lens) and a 2MP portrait shooter. That should be just about enough to satisfy everyone’s needs when it comes to smartphone photography.
In addition to that, the phone also has a gaming mode, an AI-assisted battery saving mode and a voice changer that allows the users to change their voice during multiplayer gaming sessions in order to protect their privacy.
The smartphone is quite heavy, coming in at 201g but that might just have come to be because Vivo chose to reinforce the area around the retractable lens. Regardless of what the reason for this weight gain is, it’s something worth knowing before you decide to purchase the phone.
Speaking of purchases, the device is available in India for around $425, after conversion and will be making its way to other Asian markets in the following weeks.
