Vivo has now officially launched its latest smartphone, the Z5, which can be considered Z5x’s sibling in most aspects, with a few added changes and upgrades, of course.
To begin with, the phone has a 6.38 inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080 x 2340px resolution and a fingerprint reader that can be found under the screen.
Snapdragon 712 chipset under the hood, which will arrive with either a 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 64, 128 or 256GB internal storage combinations.
Vivo decided to bring the waterdrop notch back for this device, where a 32MP camera is house, with an f/2.0 aperture. On the back, the Z5 features a 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP wide-angle lens with f/2.0 aperture. One of the camera features includes a dedicated night mode that aims to deliver better low-light photos.
The phone is juiced up by a 4,500mAh battery that comes with 22.5W fast charging support and also reverse charging for other devices. The phone runs Funtouch OS 9.1 based, of course, on Android 9 Pie.
It is available in Aurora Illusion, Holographic Illusion and Bamboo Forest Night color options.
As far as pricing goes, the 6GB/64GB model will cost CNY 1,598 (roughly around $230), the 6GB/128GB variant is CNY 1,898 ($275), the 6GB/256GB variant is CNY 1,998 ($290) while the 8GB/128GB version comes with a price tag of CNY 2,298 ($330).
For now, it’s unknown when or if Vivo plans to make the Z5 available outside China.
