Xbox Engineer Rescues User’s Profile Picture

Sometimes, things happen that restore our faith in humanity. One of those things is one Xbox engineer’s dedication to make a user happy and fulfilled while playing again.

When Twitter user @noukon also known as Gabriel Roland complained about his avatar’s impending doom, one engineer listened.

Roland explained how Xbox multiple changes and updates have led to a progressive shrinkage of his Pac-Man ghost avatar. Nevertheless, the man said he would stubbornly stick to it and not give in to the temptation of a better, standard-size gamerpic:

“I will not yield. I bought this gamerpic for 80 Xbox Points in 2006, and I’ll be fucked if it won’t remain the best dollar I’ve ever spent until the seas boil over”, he ended his post.

Xbox engineer @neonepiphany saw his loyalty to the hard-won, cute ghost avatar and decided to help.

As the Pac-Man ghost dated from the 2000s, Eden (@neonepiphany) had to buy it again and think of a strategy to make it nice and visible again.

It became her personal mission. Eden worked on it in some of her work breaks, fixing issue after issue until, hours and hours later, the avatar got its well deserved, bigger size.

She also made sure to document her creative thinking process on Twitter:

Was Roland ecstatic at seeing his avatar at normal size?

You betcha!
