Xiaomi has been fast on catching up with its competitors, especially in the last year and now the company is gearing up to deliver an new, innovative feature that might appear on its next generation handsets.
Xiaomi CEO Lin Bin took to Weibo to post a video where he showcased the under-display fingerprint scanner. Apparently, all you’d need would be to set up your finger with a simple tap and then you’ll be able to unlock the screen just by pressing well…anywhere on the display.
The unlocking area covers quite a lot of ground: 50mm by 25mm, to be more exact and, by looking at the video we can say it’s pretty fast and quite reliable.
In the Weibo post, Lin Bin stated that, if the technology proves to be popular among the users, the company will consider releasing it in a future product.
