Xiaomi Just Patented a Phone That Features The Same Camera on The Front And Back

Xiaomi just patented probably the most daring solution to get rid of the notch: a display that splits in two and twists backward.

Discovered by Tiger Mobiles from a patent filed with the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the smartphone’s design was filed directly by Xiaomi.

The illustrations display a notch-less phone, with the top portion horizontally twisting backward when you want to take a selfie.

According to the sketch, you will use the same set of cameras for the front and the back, while the contents on the display would adapt to the new screen size when the camera is flipped.

The top section of the display can be like a secondary display on the back when the cameras are flipped for the selfie mode.

This is the first time a manufacturer adopts a solution that includes a flippable screen as well as camera.
