LG is among the first smartphone makers to announce a new device at MWC 2018. Meet the LG V30S ThinkQ!

While the device itself is almost identical to the older V30, it does bring a few upgrades to that amazing camera.

    • Dual Rear Camera: 16MP Standard Angle (F1.6 / 71°) / 13MP Wide Angle (F1.9 / 120°)
    • Front Camera: 5MP Wide Angle (F2.2 / 90°)

The ThinkQ is aptly named, because of the new LG AI Cam feature. It’s a machine-learning system from EyeEm Vision that was trained on 100 million images to surface keywords related to the objects the camera recognizes.

The LG V30S ThinkQ camera also has a new Bright Mode that combines four pixels into one to create better images in extreme low light.

There’s also a QLens image detection tool to the camera that lets you take a photo and then searches that object in the Amazon store. Other upgrades also come to the RAM and storage front. The V30S ThinkQ now has 6GB of RAM, with storage options of 64GB/ 128GB for the ThinkQ, and 256GB for the ThinkQ+.

That’s about it on the new features list. The rest of the specs on the LG V30S ThinkQ are the same with the LG V30. Snapdragon 835 processor, dual camera, 18:9 display and 3.300 mAh battery all return on the specifications list.

The device is also IP68 water and dust resistant and MIL-STD 810G compliant, so it’s pretty durable. The LG V30S ThinQ will go on sale in the next few weeks in Korea and it will be available in other territories at the end of March.
