I’ll say one thing: you can always count on Louis for great music. I’m not talking just about Satchmo here, either; there’s a new “kid” on the block. A gadget that has 0 electronic parts. An anomaly, I know, yet the Louis wooden speaker delivers vintage vibes to your smartphone tunes like you wouldn’t believe it #objectmagic
The speaker looks like a simple wood box on the outside with a slot for your smartphone. Once you push the play button on the dedicated app, you’ll hear your music coming out differently, as if it were played by a gramophone. How can that happen, if there are no electronics to speak of? Well, the box is carved like a trumpet on the interior, rendering sounds like in the old days.
In a couple of seconds, your favorite tracks capture a vintage vibe and the room fills with warm sounds, as if they were coming straight from a record player. At least, that’s what Paolo Cappello, its maker, says. If you want to test his device, you can order one here , in graphite, natural or yellow. (I say “go for the natural look” – imagine the effort your friends are going to make just to figure out how that piece of wood works).
