Smartphone vendors barely had to adapt to the Snapdragon 765G gaming-oriented processor, and not six months later, Qualcomm is already debuting an upgrade.

The new Snapdragon 768G 5G processor was announced today.

It brings an integrated Snapdragon X52 modem with mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G support and standalone and non-standalone 5G networks.

And, since it’s a gaming-oriented processor, it’s already available on the Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition.

Power-wise, it upgrades the 765G significantly: a 15 percent GPU performance and increasing the CPU clock speed from 2.4 GHz to 2.8 GHz.

“A leveled-up Kryo 475 CPU is engineered for heavy processing at lightning-fast speeds—with ultimate power efficiency to prolong gameplay.

Plus, the super-responsive Adreno 620 GPU offers up to 15% faster graphics rendering compared to the previous generation for lifelike details and seamless animations.

To top it all off, select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features produce ultra-rich imagery, smooth graphics rendering, and optimized response times for immersive action and incredible adventure,” said Qualcomm in the announcement.
