Google ‘Sodar’ AR Tool To Help You Keep Your Social Distance

The latest app designed to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 is coming from Google.

The Google ‘Sodar’ AR Tool is a social distancing app coming from the Experiments team.

Well, not quite an app, since anyone can use it simply by visiting this website, no install needed!

The ‘Sodar’ social distancing tool creates a six feet (two meters) radius around you, showing you on your phone screen just how socially distant you should be from others.

Considering not all places have floor markings and it can sometimes be difficult to adjust to the more relaxed lockdown rules, this can be a helpful tool.

To use it, you need an Android device, the Chrome browser, and AR capabilities on your phone. If you tried other AR apps, it’s likely your device is compatible.
