Although the United States ban upon Huawei in 2019 affected the manufacturer’s smartphone launches and the recent sanctions could affect chip supply, the company keeps following its plans with consistency.
This fall, Huawei is expected to introduce its Mate 40 series, and according to a leakster on Weibo, the launch won’t be affected by the further sanctions by the United States.
Moreover, the company is looking to ship 8 million pieces of the flagship to arrive in October with a 5nm chipset in Q4 2020 alone.
The lineup unveiled in September 2019 was slightly delayed due to the restrictions that came up with the COVID-19 pandemic and suffered some setbacks due to the lockdown in China.
The Mate 40 series could be running on one of the fastest chips on the market as is supposed to integrate Kirin 1020 chipset built on the 5-nanometer manufacturing process.
