CES 2021 is less than a month away but, like every year, LG is excited to introduce their new products ahead of the event.
This time, we’re meeting the LG QNED TV line, which uses Mini LED technology to bring an incredible picture quality.
LG says their new LCD 8K and 4K TVs will use Mini LED to offer a “a giant leap forward in LCD TV picture quality”.
You should definitely believe them, since other manufacturers like TCL already jumped on this tech.
Top of the line LCDs now use something called “full-array local dimming” where the LEDS are grouped in zones, with each of them individually dimmed for better black levels and contrast.
Meanwhile, the new Mini LED technology uses a lot more LEDs of a significantly smaller size, which allows for even better contrast, more dynamic HDR and improved color accuracy.
LG explained that the new tech “comprises up to almost 30,000 tiny LEDs that produce incredible peak brightness and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 when paired with up to 2,500 dimming zones and advanced local dimming zones.”
“Our new QNED Mini LED series is a premium home entertainment option that expands and improves the LCD TV space and gives consumers another terrific viewing choice,” said one LG lead in the announcement.
The star of the line-up, the 86-inch LG 8K QNED TV will be showcased during LG’s CES 2021 conference.
Like most events nowadays, this one will be a digital event as well, so stay tuned for more details about it.
