Samsung Note 7 Fan Edition Goes On Sale This July 7th

After a Samsung Note 7 promotional poster in a South Korean shop got leaked, the company decided to make the news official. A refurbished version of the controversial phablet will indeed be released this July 7th #mobilemagic

The new Note 7 Fan Edition reunites many of the parts used in the initial Note 7, in an attempt to minimize waste.  While the hardware is essentially the same, Samsung did update the software so that Bixby would come as part of the package. Unlike Samsung Galaxy S8 though, the handset retains the old Galaxy look with thick bezels.

It also comes with the S Pen we’re used to seeing along Note smartphones. The 0.7mm tip comes with a pressure of 4,096 steps that significantly enhances the precision and flow of the writing. It also comes with a smaller battery, since, as you guess, Samsung doesn’t want to relive the scandal of last year. So, Note 7 Fan Edition harbors a 3,200 mAh cell that will hopefully be enough for a day’s worth of texting, browsing, taking notes or playing games.

Even so, the manufacturer decided to err on the side of caution and produce just  400,000 units. These will be available just in South Korea initially. After seeing how the handset performs there, it could expand its availability to other markets. After all, there is the strong probability that users will keep their pockets in check and wait for the Note 8, a brand new device expected to come this August. Unlike the refurbished version, that flagship will feature a dual camera module and a bigger, curved display than even the S8 Plus.
