Huawei announced its very first smart speaker, the AI Cube recently, during the IFA Berlin.
The device houses a SIM card slot, compatible with an LTE Cat.6, being able to offer mobile internet speeds of 300Mbps, which can allow the Cube to function as a 4G hotspot as well. The Cube has built-in Alexa integration.
It has a cylindrical shape with a soft-touch plastic on top and a fabric mesh on the lower half. It weighs around 900g and offers 360-degree audio which aids sound detection and playback.
It has a couple of buttons too, as most digital speakers; Over the top, it has a ‘mute’ button alongside two volume ones on the sides as well as a ‘power’ button.
How the Cube will be different from all the other AI speakers other, the company did not specify yet, but that information will most likely come around as the sale date nears closer. Huawei does promise it will be a “groundbreaking device” that will have a “powerful sound system”.
The company suggested the AI Cube will eventually be sold in Europe during the Christmas season.
