Goodbye Headphone Jack: Samsung Might Drop Theirs Too

According to Korean outlet ETnews, Samsung might be planning to drop the headphone jack from its smartphones next year.

A number of the big names in the smartphone industry are slowly inching towards losing the headphone jack, with Apple as the forerunner back in 2016 and, most recently, OnePlus, on their OnePlus 6T model.

ETnews’ sources do claim that the company will only remove the headphone jack in late 2019 though and will ship a USB-C dongle with the phones, so at least there’s the comfort of still having some time ahead of us – this also means that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will still have the headphone jack. But at the same time it might be the last one from Samsung to do so.

For now, the rumor is just that – a rumor and hopefully, for those of you who don’t see the future in wireless headphones, Samsung will be willing to wait for a while longer, depending on the user feedback. We’ll keep you posted if Samsung decides to make an official statement about it.
