If you thought you’ve seen the last of Samsung for the year, think again: the company just unveiled its latest mid-range A-Series phone, the Samsung Galaxy A9.
And for a mid-range phone, it has quite a strong package. It comes with a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2220 Super AMOLED screen, to begin with. It includes 6GB to 8GB of RAM and 128Gb of built-in storage which you can expand all the way to 512GB via microSD card.
It has a 3,800mAh battery, charges via USB-C and also features a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset that clocks in at 2.2GHz.
But the stars of the show as far as the A9 goes are its four cameras on the back. The very top one is an 8MP f/2.4 wide-angle lens with a 120-degree view. The second is a 10MP f/2.4 telephoto lens for 2x optical zoom. The main camera follows next with a 24MP f/1.7 lens and lastly we can find a 5MP f/2.2 lens built for sensing depth.
By contrast, the front camera is just a single 23MP f/2.2 selfie shooter.
The phone will be launched in the U.K and the rest of Europe but so far no news about a possible U.S launch.
As far as pricing goes, the device will be sold for around $725, after conversion, in an interesting range of colors like Bubblegum Pink, Lemonade Blue and Caviar Black.
