For those of you who are not familiar with how Apple support works, the company offers support for their products with parts and repairs for at least five years after the end of production. After those five years, the company adds those products to what is now known as the list of “vintage or obsolete” products, which you can find on their website.
Apple has updated this list of obsolete products this week and we can find a familiar and somewhat dear name on it: the iPhone 5.
The iPhone 5 debuted in 2012 and it was the first Apple smartphone that moved away from the 3.5 inch screen and transitioned to a 4 inch one, which was a stepping stone for the company who has, since, embraced the larger screen design which culminated with this year’s 6.5 inch iPhone XS Max.
The iPhone 5 also introduced a few tech bits and bobs we have pretty much grown to take for granted by now, such as the Lightning port. It was the first one that supported 4G LTE connectivity as well.
We’re sure a lot of Apple aficionados out there have quite a few stories and memories about the iPhone 5. What are yours?
