If the name Magneti Marelli doesn’t ring a bell, that’s probably because you’re not working in the automotive industry: the company designs and produces advanced systems and components for cars and supplies major carmakers all across Europe, North and South America and the Asia Pacific region.
The company’s been keeping busy in the autonomous vehicle branch as well and addresses the needs of autonomous driving and connectivity with their new line of smart and integrated lighting and electronics solutions.
One of these solutions that Magneti Marelli will be unveiling during the CES 2019 is the Smart Corner.
Smart Corner integrates autonomous sensors into both the headlamps and the tail lamps in order to provide the OEMs with the functionality they require for autonomous driving.
The Smart Corner can accommodate any sensor, including the popular LIDAR, radar, cameras or ultrasonics, alongside LED-based lighting features such as adaptive driving beams or DLP, in addition to being able to provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle.
Alongside the Smart Corner, the company will also showcase other seamlessly integrated connectivity features in one of their test vehicles, features such as a matrix organic light-emitting diode, autonomous signaling, a virtual assistant, audible alerts and more.
