There’s a huge difference between wanting and actually delivering. Disney VR got many people excited when it went live on Steam, but our advice? Keep your expectations… realistic #realitymagic
Disney has made the first step towards bringing its fantasy parks in virtual reality. The media conglomerate embarked Marvel, Lucasfilm and other properties on Steam under the appropriately called Disney Movies VR. Before you get your hopes up, don’t expect a movie containing all of your superheroes, but more of a trip in themed parks. From the menu, you can “choose from multiple scenes in Disney movies including The Jungle Book, Captain America and Star Wars,”.
Although the digital playground should make you forget about not going to Disneyland, according to one user , the whole experience is “a strange collection of VR, 3D and standard 360 video. In short – the best thing about this is the menu, everything that follows is staggeringly disappointing.”
That said, you have to try it yourself before giving a verdict, so do know that Disney Movies VR is compatible with HTC Vive and works with hand-tracked controllers.
