You might see Chrome as your go-to browser, but there’s one thing you have to accept: it’s draining your laptop’s battery life. Do you know by how much and what’s the best alternative? Microsoft ran a test to figure that out #softwaremagic
In one part, Internet browsers were tested during a normal session of browsing popular sites, while in the second part they were observed during long HD video streaming. As we suspected Chrome lasted very little in the second test – just 4 hours and 19 minutes, while the improved Microsoft Edge browser endured 7 hours and 22 minutes.
Meanwhile, the usual browsing and scrolling around took more life from Chrome, Opera and Firefox than from Edge. Of course, this entire test was a way for Microsoft to get on customers’ good side, but that doesn’t mean the test’s results are less than true.
