After shocking us with the latest pop-up camera design leak, Oppo is at it again with a new patent, which was unearthed by LetsGoDigital.
In an effort to offer more screen space, Oppo’s patent shows two possible designs: the first one features a somewhat smaller pop-up screen that peeks up at the top of the phone, much in the style of a pop-up camera.
The main display features a thin bezel that hosts a selfie camera and a speaker. We’re not really sure what the purpose of the additional screen would be: it might provide the users with an app experience they can access while watching videos or could feature extra game controls.
The second design shows a second screen sliding out from the side but by the looks of it, it would only slide out halfway, which means that it could provide for a multi-app experience that would allow the users to access other tasks without minimizing the app they had opened on the main screen.
But you know the drill, guys: unless Oppo itself acknowledges it is working on any of these designs, this patent remains just an idea. Even so, what do you think of it – overwhelming design or genius idea?
