Split between Android and Microsoft? Not anymore. One beautifully weird phablet is giving you a choice by employing both operating systems. Oh, and you can use it as a projector too #mobilemagic
If you’ve been with us at least since this year’s Mobile World Congress, then you already know what we’re talking about – the utterly unique Akyumen Holofone Phablet. We haven’t heard from the company in a while but now the device is finally ready for pre-orders. We know – vacation and summer weddings have left your wallet considerably lighter, but trust us, it’s worth a spot in your pocket.
First, it dual-boots both Android and Windows 10, with all their available features, leaving nothing behind. Then, although the 7-inch screen is definitely movie and presentations appropriate, why not enjoy the visuals as a projection? The phablet has a 35-lumen, 720p pico projector that can display at up to 100 inches.
How about performance? At this point, it’s completely normal to ask yourself if it’s a party in the front, business in the back situation or a distraction from what really counts. Well, the phone works with an Intel Cherry Trail 8300 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB upgradeable internal storage, 2910 mAh battery (expected a bigger one but it will probably do). As for camera, you get a 13 MP rear-facing camera and 5MP selfie camera but that’s clearly not the selling point of the device.
Speaking about sales, how much is the Akyumen going to cost? Starting price is $600 and it depends on the package you want. Here are all the options.
